Personal Injury Attorney Thomas P. Bellinger, partner in McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates, joined the firm in 1989.  He works primarily in the Columbia and Newberry offices and practices in the areas of automobile accidents, workers' compensation, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability and all forms of personal injury.  He received his B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1981 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987.  He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1987 and the United States District Court, District of South Carolina and United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, in 1989.

Mr. Bellinger served as law clerk to the Honorable Julius H. Baggett, Circuit Court Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit, 1987-1988, and was an Assistant Public Defender for Lexington County, 1988-1989.  He is a lecturer for the South Carolina Bar Association and the National Business Institute.  Mr. Bellinger is a member of the American and South Carolina Trial Lawyers Associations, the Association of South Carolina Claimant Attorneys for Workers' Compensation, and the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Education Association.  He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, its Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, its Torts and Insurance Practices and Workers' Compensation sections, and the Richland, Lexington and Newberry County Bar Associations.  He is a former member of the Lawyer-Physician Committee.
